Elgan: 10 things that won't survive the recession

I haven't been diligent about blogging this month. :-( To remedy this, I'm going to re-post an interesting article I read the other day from ComputerWorld.com. It was written by Mike Elgan, someone who "learns, thinks, writes, and speaks about techonology," and in it he details 10 things (both generic and specific) that he beleives won't survive this recession because of technological reasons. I am just going to quickly list all ten items, however, I encourage everyone read the original article for his clever rationale behind each.
  1. Free tech support
  2. Wi-fi you have to pay for
  3. Landline phones
  4. Movie rental stores
  5. Web 2.0 companies without a business plan
  6. Most companies in Silicon Valley
  7. Palm Inc.
  8. Yahoo
  9. Half of all retail stores
  10. Satellite Radio

Launching a New Blog

I tried to start up a blog in February, but I hit a rough patch after a few posts. I had tried to keep the content very intellectual, which was cool, but it meant I personally had high expectations for each post. As a result, posting was time-consuming and discouraging. I am hoping to restart blogging under a slightly more casual tone--hopefully including some of those more intellectual topics I had meant to write about, but also including things more reflective of my personal life--to allow more continuous and easier updating. Also, I wanted to rename the blog to reflect my online alias, Sanns.

Welcome to Sanns Life.
